Employment law

Legal assistance in the event of dismissal, agreements, downsizing and working environment.
Text module

A sustainable working environment is about ensuring that employees leave work in the same good condition as when they arrived. We all get tired after a day at work, but there is considerable value in ensuring that the working environment is safe, inclusive and sustainable. Employees are important resources in any business, and there is much to be gained from showing employees that their employer is both organised and caring. A good starting point is to comply with the key requirements of the Working Environment Act. We regularly advise employers on, among other things, the content of the Act's requirements for a fully responsible working environment, the preparation of written reporting procedures that meet the requirements of the Act, and what is within and outside the scope of the Act's working time provisions. Furthermore, we assist employers in meeting the requirements for preventing and dealing with harassment, including sexual harassment and other inappropriate behaviour, as well as how to fulfil the obligation to have a safety representative and what should be included in employment contracts.

An important part of acting responsibly as an employer is having a plan for the probationary period. The probationary period gives both the employer and the employee the opportunity to assess whether the employment relationship is working. We provide advice on how to make good use of the probationary period and what applies to dismissal during the probationary period, including a lower threshold for dismissal, shorter notice periods and no right to remain in the position upon dismissal.

Even the most organised employer can experience downturns or find that an employee is not a good fit. In such cases, we assist with assessments of the grounds for dismissal or downsizing. There are many rules to consider when dismissing an employee, and a realistic assessment of the grounds is crucial to avoid unnecessary legal proceedings.

In addition to contributing to a sustainable working environment, we help employers facilitate a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our experience in employment law ensures that your business is well equipped to meet both legal requirements and future challenges.
